Hello!  My name is Mandy Macklem and I am so excited to start my 3rd year of teaching kindergarten. Prior to joining the kindergarten team last year, I was the reading specialist here for six years and a 2nd grade teacher for one year. All in all I have been teaching for 16 years. Before I began my journey with Merdian Ranch, in 2013, I spent three years teaching in District 11, two years in Ridgway, Colorado, and one year in Montrose, Colorado.  In the beginning of the 2020 school year my switch to kindergarten was unexpected, but I unexpectedly LOVED it! I knew that when given the option to do it again, or go back to my reading specialist position, my heart was with the kindies. I graduated with my BA from Colorado Christian University in 2007 and finished my MEd with a Reading Specialist endorsement from Regis University in 2013. I live in Colorado Springs with my husband Kirk, and our daugher Kenna (4).  We also have two fur babies, Chloe (15) Rowan (5). I look forward to facilitating a great year for a new group of kinders!
