Degrees and Certifications:
Hello, my name is Linda Ross and I am one of the District 49 school nurses. I will be the school nurse for Inspiration View and Grand Peak Academy for the 2021-2022 school year. Originally from Illinois, I went to University of Illinois at Chicago to obtain my BSN. I went on to work for 11 years in downtown Chicago at Northwestern University. I worked on a busy mother/baby unit, a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit as well as attending high risk deliveries. After living and working in the big city for almost 15 years, my family and I decided we wanted a change of pace and scenery and moved out to Colorado Springs in 2017. I got a job working in the NICU at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. My most current position has been at UC Health attending deliveries as the Infant Code Blue nurse. Through these various positions I have gained much experience with emergencies, rare congenital diseases and chronic conditions related to prematurity that continue through childhood. Communication with multidisciplinary teams and families has been a large part of my job as a nurse.
My family lives in the Banning Lewis Ranch neighborhood. My husband’s name is John and he is a middle school teacher in another district. We have been married for 15 years and we have two active boys, 5 & 7 years old that keep us very busy! I am so very excited to have the opportunity to work as a school nurse in my community. I look forward to partnering with all of you to keep our students safe, healthy and in the classroom!
