Mrs. Elizabeth Williamson

I am excited to be continuing my journey in education here at Stetson Elementary School.  I am thrilled to be staying at Stetson as I journey into my second year as a 5th grade teacher.  This journey began when I completed my Masters of Education from the University of Northern Colorado.  I have had amazing opportunities as a professional licensed teacher. My first experience teaching was here in the Springs. I taught in D20 at Prairie Hills Elementary School. I was given the opportunity to teach in Okinawa Japan for the Department of Defense.

I will continue to pursue my education as I take on another masters starting August 2020.  I look forward to taking my knowledge of the classroom to now start learning of building and district rules/regulations as I complete my Masters of Leadership.  I will continue to work toward providing my students with the most valuable education they deserve.

The many places I have explored and lived as a military family has greatly enhanced the value I place on the importance of the community which is found within the design and management of my classroom. Creating a desire of exploration when learning, wondering about the unknown, inquiring for understanding and collaborating to benefit from community will enhance my students’ learning process.

In addition to the experiences as a licensed teacher, I am a mother of three children and a wife of a Marine.  We are a sports family, and my three very active children afford me the opportunity to watch baseball, softball, basketball and competative cheer.  My youngest daughter also rides horses, and upon returning to the Springs is learning how to barrel race.  I do make time to get a jog in or take a hike in this beautiful Pikes Peak Region we live in.  As a family we make it a point to go to Rockies and Avalanche games.  We are known to attend CC and DU hockey games too.  We especially try to take time to get to our cabin in Grand Lake.  We are definitely a mountain family and I hold dear the time I get to spend with my family at the cabin.  With my son graduating this year, I definetly do not take for granted our family time.

I greatly enjoy being in Colorado and am thrilled at the opportunity to be teaching 5th grade for the second year here at Stetson!  This is going to be a great year!
