Welcome!  My name is Lucy Nelson and I am teaching 5th grade at Stetson Hills Elementary this year. I have been in and out of the classroom most of my adult life, as a student, volunteer, guest teacher, and a classroom teacher. I have a “Dual” Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I am currently completing my Masters Degree in English Language Learning (PreK-12.) 

I am originally from South Carolina, but the Air Force moved my husband and our family to Colorado Springs in 2008. My husband has since retired from the AF and teaches high school in District 49. We have 3 children and 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat.)  I enjoy spending time with my family, my fur babies and with my friends as much as possible. I also love traveling/sightseeing, hiking, reading a good book, going to the movies, watching college football, listening to clean comedy, and appreciating a nice cup of coffee. 

I am very excited about this school year and look forward to meeting and getting to know your child. I also look forward to working with you to help your child be successful this school year!
