Degrees and Certifications:
I am excited to be joining the Stetson Elementary family as a 5th grade teacher! This will be my 5th year of teaching. I have experience in kindergarten, 4th grade, 6th grade, and special education as a paraprofessional. I recieved my bachelors degree from Utah Valley University and have taught in Texas and Germany (DoDea).
I have a strong passion for teaching and learning. I was blessed to be influenced by outstanding teachers as a child so I understand the impact a teacher can have. I hope to instill in my students a love for learning that leads them to be life long learners. I also want my students to understand the enormous potential that they each have. With some hard work and determination they can accomplish great things!
Not only am I teacher but I am a wife and mother to some pretty awesome people. My husband and I have been married almost 7 years and we have three children. Our oldest is 5 and will be starting kindergarten here at Stetson this year. His sisters are 3 years old and 2 months. My husband is active duty Army nearing 21 years of service. His career has taken me from my small town Colorado roots to some amazing places around the world. We just recently moved to the Springs from Germany. While we were there we were blessed to travel and have some once in a lifetime experiences. The small German village we lived in will always hold a special place in my heart.
Along with traveling my family and I enjoy pizza movie nights and spending time out doors. We have taken up gardening this year and now really consider ourselves "farmers".
I personally love reading and running. I have been a runner almost since birth and was even a member of the cross country and track teams in college. I have done lots of 5ks, 10ks, and half marathon. My goal is to get back into shape after having a baby and run a full marathon within the next year.
I am so excited for this school year and can't wait for all the amazing things that will happen!
