Mrs. Kelsey Sampsel
My name is Mrs. Sampsel, and I am the Art teacher at BRES. I have a BA in Art History from
Arizona State University and an MA in Teacher Leadership from Western State University. My
passion for art history began while living overseas in Germany, where I had the opportunity to
learn about art conservation and museum management. Previously, I was a working artist for 12
years. My artwork has been shown in the US and abroad. When I am not teaching, I love to hike,
paint, camp, run, garden and travel. My husband and I met while running competitively and
have been married for 15 years. We have 4 kids that I love to embarrass with my dance moves.
The art program at BRES will aim to provide a safe environment for students to explore societal,
cultural and historical context to deepen understanding of big ideas. Students will learn that art
is all around us. Our culminating project, an art show, will show some of these works and allow
students to share their artistic journey with their parents, peers and community. I am excited to
share my passion for the arts with the students of BRES and inspire the next generation of
creatives.
