Mrs. Regan Benabides

Hello everyone!

You can call me Mrs. B. This is my 3rd year at Vista, my 4th year teaching, and I am so happy to be coming back! I will only be teaching English 1 this year and I couldn't be more excited. I know this year will be a challenge, but I am sure we will get through it together!

My favorite part of teaching English would have to be helping my students relate the literature we read in class to life as we know it, whether it be past experiences, current situations, or the unknown. I am a firm believer in learning from others' mistakes, so we can make our own. I completely understand that not everyone loves to read and write, but so many more important life skills can be learned in the English classroom. Yes, reading and writing are necessary, but the ability to communicate, relate, and understand others can give you unlimited possibilities.

I am married and have been for 11 years! My husband is in the Air Force, so we have moved around a couple of times, but Colorado is home. I am originally from Pueblo, as is my husband. We both attended Central High School, and you could say we are something close to high school sweethearts. We have a 7 year old daughter, and she is the light of our life.

In my spare time, you can find me hanging out with the little one, enjoying food with friends or family, or finding an exciting adventure (traveling, hiking, or trying something new). I also love to decorate, so I am always looking for fun things to add to our home. I enjoy yoga, just started getting into running, and I am currently attempting to add French lessons to my daily routine.
