I'm proud member of the ALLIES family! I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education (K-6) and Masters of Education in the Exceptional Child (K–12) program at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. In 2001, I began teaching full time as a special education teacher. My first year teaching was in the Nampa School District in Idaho. In 2002, I took a position in the Falcon School District 49 as a special education teacher and continued in this profession for many years. In 2015, I went back to school at Colorado College for the Literacy Intervention Specialist Certification Program (LISCP). The following year, I was able to move from a special education teacher position to a Take Flight therapist position within D49. In 2017, I became a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and completed my LISCP training. Currently, I’m a Take Flight Therapist at ALLIES in District 49 because I’m passionate about helping students grow and learn.
The joy in my life comes from family. I’m married to a fabulous husband, who keeps me grounded. We were blessed in 2012 with our daughter, who keeps us both on our toes. She is kind and caring with a lot of energy. Our family is rounded out with two domestic shorthaired cats, who love to play, cuddle and sleep. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, having coffee with friends, watching various sports, enjoying musicals, doing digital scrapbooking, attending and volunteering at church functions, traveling and spending quality time with my family.
