Miss Rachel Gordon

Hello, Families! My name is Rachel Gordon, and I am a teacher here at Stetson Elementary School. I grew up in Northwest Arkansas, and am a HUGE Arkansas Razorback football fan. As you might imagine, this makes for very dissapointing weekends every fall. The way I combat my football blues is by getting to know an amazing bunch of new students!

I am fortunate to be entering my 15th year as a teacher here at Stetson. This will be my fourth year teaching 3rd grade. I always look forward to seeing student academic, social, and emotional growth throughout the year. Third grade is a year when students make a huge leap from learning to read to reading to learn. As many of you know, state testing begins in 3rd grade so we will be working incredibly hard to prepare for those.

During the year, your child and I will be spending many, many hours in the classroom together. I want you to know that there is no place I would rather be and no job that I would rather have. Together, as parents and teachers, we can provide a comfortable, stimulating, nurturing, and challenging environment for your child. My promise to you is that I will consistently put the best interest of your child first, keep you informed about your child’s growth and classroom activities, and always welcome your input and support. As the year progresses, I also encourage you to contact me with any concerns, questions, or comments you might have. You can always leave a message for me by calling the front office (495-5252), write me a note and send it in with your child, or email me at rgordon@d49.org.
