Mrs. Cori Hunt

Hello.  My name is Mrs. Hunt.

I am the Art Teacher, here at Ridgeview Elementary.

I have been so excited about teaching Art at Ridgeview Elementary, since July 2021.

The students, staff, and parents welcomed me with open arms.

I moved here from Magnolia, Texas in 2020 with my husband, Steve.  We have been married 33 years.

We have a lot of family living in Colorado Springs, Aurora, and Palmer Lake.   After one of our visits here, we decided to move to Colorado Springs.

Our daughter is married and living in Pennsylvania since 2022.

We have two rescue cats that we brought from Texas.  We have a gray Tabby, Shrubby, and a Tuxedo, Mr. Meowghi.

We love it here!  It is a beautiful place to live and thrive.  We are avid hikers and love being in nature.

We are getting acclimated to the climate and the snow.  I recently added snow tires to my SUV.

Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming towards us.

A few of my hobbies are Watercolor Painting, Ceramics, Gardening, Hiking, Reading, and Cooking.

I attended the CAEA Art Conference in Brekenridge to learn more about Art Techniques, such as Clay and Glazes, Gelli Prints, Weaving, Tile Additives, and Paper Mache.  I am so excited to share these techniques with the students in the many years to come.

I attended Sam Houston State University. Sam is located in Huntsville, Texas.  I also went to the University of Houston too.

I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a Certification in Science and Art.

I believe my goal as an Art Teacher at Ridgeview Elementary is to share my passion for Art.

I love creating art, learning about new techniques and mediums, and learning about the Art History of Artists from the past to the present.

I want the kids to be excited about Art too.
