During a public meeting March 9, District 49’s Board of Education accepted the resignation of David H. Moore, who is relocating for a new opportunity. The remaining members must appoint a new director within 60 days.
Community members interested in serving on the Board of Education must complete an application packet consisting of the following:
District 49's Board of Education directors want to consider all nominations. While a resolution called for application packets to reach the BOE executive assistant by Friday, April 7, 2017, packets will continue to be accepted until the vacancy is filled. Applicants are requested to make an appointment for delivering their packet, so it can be reviewed for any missing information. With a completed packet, candidates will learn more about what to do next.
The BOE will interview prospective candidates at a public meeting, and the remaining four members of the board will appoint a new director at a public meeting.
To be eligible for this appointment candidates must have lived in District 49 for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the appointment, be an eligible voter, and a resident of director district 1 or 4 (find the director district for your residence
Candidates should be aware that the application materials they submit are open public records.
