I am beginning my 15th year here at Horizon Middle School, and  my 18th year of teaching.   I began as a Math teacher and then switched to teaching  Career and Technical Education (CTE).  I am passionate about teaching life skills through  Computer Applications,  Computer Science and Design Modeling.  I  enjoy learning about the ever changing tech world and  bringing the information to my students and members of the HMS community.

I am also the staff mentor for the Cyber Security /Cyber Patriot Club.    We will compete in Cyber Patriot and other competitions.  The students enjoy investigating company profiles and finding the security risks.  

Teaching involves being a life-long learner.  I was fortunate to be able to spend part of my summer at UCCS taking a GenCyber course and attending the RockCS  conference.    I learned about new programs that I can use with my students and I met many other teachers who will be excellent resources going into this school year.

Outside of teaching, my favorite activities are playing music on my piano or Mountain Dulcimer,  reading, camping, hanging out with my family or relaxing with my cat.

I look forward to meeting my new students, seeing my previous students and having fun in class as we learn and explore the exciting world of technology.
