Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Natalie Bousfield
I have been teaching at Vista Ridge High School since 2015 and I have enjoyed my experience so far. Since being at Vista Ridge High School, I have taught chemistry, honors chemistry, biology, honors biology, biomedical science II: human body systems and biomedical science III: medical interventions. Through biomedical III: medical interventions class, students are provided the opportunity to earn their BACE, which allows students to earn a certificate as a biotechnology assistant. With this credential, students can work in laboratories along side with a licensed medical lab scientist. This credential is super helpful for those students who are looking to working in labs in college as a work study. To learn more about the BACE, please visit the https://biotility.research.ufl.edu/.
I am also an advisor for HOSA--Future Health Professionals. This is a club where we encourage students to work in the medical/health field. We complete service projects and compete in competitive health events. Every year we compete at the state level in Denver, CO. The top 3 performers in their event earn a spot at the International Leadership Conference (ILC). If you'd like to learn more about HOSA, please visit hosa.org.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family. They are the best part of my day. We like to go to parks, walks, and hanging out with friends. I have two dogs, Rey and Zeus, and two cats, Phlegm and Captain. My son, Felix and my pets keep me very busy.
For the 2022-2023 school year I will be teaching Chemistry, Biomedical Science II: Human Body Systems and Biomedical Science III: Medical Interventions. For all my classes I will use Schoology. This site will have all assignments and other necessary course materials. This is also where students will submit assignments.
