Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lauren Besler
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Lauren Besler and I am entering my 5th year in Kindergarten at Woodmen Hills Elementary. I spent my first seven years teaching kindergarten, first and second grades at Lewis Palmer Elementary in Monument, Colorado. The three years after that, I taught K-6 Technology at Academy Charter School in Castle Rock, Colorado. My husband's job brought us to Colorado Springs and I couldn't be more excited to be back in my hometown! I am a Colorado Springs native and Doherty High School graduate. After graduating, I went to Mesa State College (now known as Colorado Mesa University) in Grand Junction on a golf scholarship. There, I earned my Elementary Education degree with an emphasis in math.
My husband and two kids love spending time outdoors! Whether it's golfing, swimming or just playing in the backyard, we spend as much time as we can soaking up the Colorado sunshine! My son will be in 3rd grade at WHES and this year my daughter in 1st grade. I am so lucky to be able to have them so close.
I love teaching Kindergarten! I am looking forward to the school year and to being a part of your student's educational journey. As a teacher, it is my job to ensure success from every learner in my classroom. Not only will your student learn the tools to be a successful student, but also the value of being a part of a classroom and school community where they are encouraged, valued and respected.
Parents and volunteers are always welcome in my classroom and I encourage it! Feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns! Welcome to WHES!
