What is ICAP and how does District 49 help students plan for their future?
ICAP is an ongoing advising process that guides students and families with career exploration, course planning, work-based experiences and training, and free college options. From elementary school through high school, D49 helps students discover who they are, what makes each student unique, and how they can find their pathway into the future!
NCAA Eligibility Information

All student athletes who are contemplating participating in intercollegiate athletics or who are interested in being recruited for possible athletic scholarships at Division I or II schools should register for the NCAA Eligibility Clearinghouse by the end of their junior year. Once registered, be sure to contact your guidance counselor for further instructions about how to arrange to have your official school transcripts sent to the Eligibility Clearinghouse. Additionally, it is important for students to carefully plan their high school course work in order to meet specific requirements of the Eligibility Clearinghouse. A minimum grade point average of 2.0 in all courses that meet the Eligibility Clearinghouse requirements is required for initial eligibility.

Learning about Yourself and Career Matches
YouScience is an online interest survey for D49 middle school and high school students that helps them understand their natural abilities and introduces them to potential career pathways. Students can ask their campus advisors about setting up an account on YouScience.

Career-connected Learning
D49 partners with the Pikes Peak Business & Education Alliance (PPBEA) to help students explore careers through classroom presentations, site field trips, job shadows, informational interviews, and hands-on internships for high school credit. Students can set up their own "Marketplace" account to explore opportunities available on the PPBEA website. (PPBEA Marketplace)

Showcase You!
Students can use Tallo to build a unique digital profile (resume) and store information about completed courses, accomplishments, projects, and work-based experiences. Tallo connects students to customized scholarships and enables connections to prospective colleges, programs, businesses, internships and job opportunities.

NAIA Eligibility Clearinghouse
PlayNAIA.org is the official clearinghouse for NAIA eligibility. Every student-athlete must register with the NAIA eligibility center to play sports at an NAIA college. The eligibility center is also a powerful tool to help athletes connect with coaches and NAIA schools - and find money for college through thousands of NAIA athletic scholarships.
