Fourth Grade

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Catherine David

Hello MRES families! My name is Catherine David, and I am thrilled to be your student’s teacher this year. I have my bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) in English and Elementary Education, and I love incorporating my literary background into the classroom. I also have a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics from UCCS. Getting students excited about math and growing their confidence in their mathematical abilities is one of my great passions as a teacher. This will be my ninth  year teaching, and I am excited for the year to begin!

Outside of the classroom I enjoy many interests. I love hikes with my dogs, road trips with my husband, and am always up for exploring new places. I also greatly enjoy learning about other cultures from around the world and try to include it in the classroom whenever I can. I am a coffee enthusiast, a book connoisseur, chocolate lover, and an avid theme park attendee.

Teaching truly is my passion, and I love encouraging inquisitiveness, a growth mindset, and responsibility as students grow in their learning. Your child will dive deeply into many subjects, and will experience a high level of academic rigor as a fourth grader. I will foster an environment where students learn to think critically and creatively, work collaboratively, and set high standards for classroom work. I love being a teacher, and absolutely love teaching fourth grade! I am passionate about developing relationships with my students and making our classroom into a welcoming and supportive environment.

I am so excited to get to know your student and family more throughout the year!
