After years of following my heart and working as a geologist, I was lead into the field of Special Education and I found my heart expanding. The big difference? History defines both the rocks and children, but only children have the capacity and vulnerability to grow and flourish, dependent upon the relationships they develop. THAT is why I chose working with middle school students! This is my 9th year working with students who have affective needs, and my 7th in D49. Every success they experience, I experience, also. My goal is to help all our students increase their academic knowledge and abilities, as well as empowering them to self-determine their future.
I am still very passionate about earth history and processes, I love to hike and camp with my furry children, and I enjoy capturing the beauty and humor around me with a Nikon.
