Mrs. Patsy Dowell

Hola! My name is Patsy Dowell and this is my third year as Stetson's Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) teacher. I have been teaching K-5th grade since 2010 and came to Stetson in 2014. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, then my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I recently, completed my TESOL endorsement at UCCS. I was born in Texas, grew up in Illinois then settled here in 2013 through the military. We have three beautiful children and one handsome dog. I am fluent in Spanish and love learning about the beautiful cultures around us!

  • About CLDE

The goal of this program is to help students develop and strengthen their English skills in order to be successful in the mainstream classroom. Ultimately, students will be able to effectively listen, speak, read, and write fluently in English. Some of our goals are to establish a strong conversational level of English and expand the students' knowledge of content-specific vocabulary.

    My Philosophy

I absolutely love what I do and my strong desire is to provide all students with an excellent education to make sure they are always learning and growing to the best of their ability. I believe in every child's potential and I expect all of my students to be successful. I strive to instill in them the desire to learn and persevere even when learning is difficult. To ensure success in reaching their full potential, I believe that we should work together. This collaboration allows us to learn from each other and offer the best education possible for our students. I look forward to another great year!
