Mrs. Wendy Murphy
Wendy Trapp Murphy, a long time elementary school teacher and now an instructional coach, believes providing a safe, nurturing and cooperative classroom environment is critical in her profession. Students are more successful in school and daily life when they have developed strong life skills and are confident in their learning.
Teaching in a primary classroom, Mrs. Murphy finds creative and engaging ways to motivate students to learn. Her classroom culture generates a positive mindset in which students set personal goals, collaborate, work hard and understand that greatness arises with a dedicated effort.
Working with colleagues as an instructional coach, Mrs. Murphy feels collaboration is vital and knows that all voices need to be heard, valued and respected. One of her passions is analyzing academic data with peers to drive instruction.
Mrs. Murphy was named a finalist for the 2018 Colorado Teacher of the Year.
In her free time, Mrs. Murphy enjoys planning her next family trip to Disney World and spending time with her husband Ryan and thier two children. She is her son’s biggest fan at karate tournaments and her daughter’s greatest cheerleader at gymnastics meets.
