Mrs. Mary Hopper

I'm a 26-year veteran of District 49, and I've taught at WHES since the building opened in 1999. This is my fifth year as a specials teacher in PBL (Project-Based Learning); previously, I taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades here and at Falcon Elementary. My son Ben graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in May 2020, and works as a shift manager at Qdoba. Remington is my 4-year-old rambunctious Pit Bull mix who loves long sniffy walks. In addition to my love for teaching here at school, I teach Hot Yoga at a local studio. I love to bake, read, watch movies, and LAUGH!

My overarching goal in PBL is to develop a meaningful, diverse, and engaging program for all our students. I want to give them opportunities to explore new learning and express themselves creatively. Ultimately, I want them to make connections between their classroom studies and the projects they complete in PBL. Teamwork and problem-solving will be at the heart of their work.

You're invited to stop in and tour the classroom anytime, and I welcome any questions and feedback you provide.

Cheers to a fantastic 20-21 school year!
