Teaching Philosophy

I believe in building a safe, structured, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student creativity.  I use a variety of teaching strategies and tools aimed at meeting the diverse learning styles of students and will put forth great effort to meet their individual needs.  In addition, I believe that effective learning takes place when students are able to explore through scientific inquiry activities that include hands-on experiments, student-centered labs, and projects (individual and group).  Finally, I will strive to inspire in students an excitement for science as they unlock the mysteries of the world around them.
