Ms. Julie Devore

This will be my fifth year at Sand Creek High School and eighth year in District 49.   I am beginning my 37th year of teaching and still enjoy helping students succeed.  I earned my B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry from Wheaton College in Illinois, a Masters in Theology from Liberty University, and my Masters in Educational Leadership with the University of Northern Colorado.  I am currently a doctoral candidate working on my dissertation in Educational Reform with the University of Northern Colorado.
Raised in Buckeye Country, I am still an avid Ohio State fan!  I have had the privilege to live in many tourist towns such as Naples, Florida, and Austin, Texas but now enjoy the good life in Colorado as I hike the mountain trails with my Shiba Inu, Mingo.  I like to camp, star gaze, play various instruments, sketch, paint, read, attend church, and at times get actively involved in political campaigns!  I am also a Space Foundation teacher liaison and I volunteer at the Discovery Center and the annual Space Symposium here in Colorado Springs, as well as with our Sand Creek High School Stellar Xplorers!
The Cosmos fascinates me with its infinite wonders and Forensic Science intrigues me because it uses science to seek justice!  Teaching both Astronomy and Forensic Science is as fun and exciting for me as I hope it is for my students!
