Hello. My name is Fred Baker. I have been teaching English and Social Studies with D49 since 2005. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado. I am the youngest of five children, and I am told by family members that I act like the youngest! I have a BA from the University of Northern Colorado and an MA from Colorado College. In my free time, I enjoy camping, lake kayaking, and listening to all kinds of music. I love spending time with my adorable wife, Kim, and our four grown children: Paige, Bridget, Anna, and Luke. 

My interest in Springs Studio began when my son attended here. His experience was so overwhelmingly positive, which helped me see that Springs Studio is a warm, welcoming, personalized environment that truly brings out the best in its students. I spent most of my teaching career with middle school students, so I try hard to treat high school students with respect for their maturity and potential. I believe in building relationships and drawing out the best in my students. I believe that the future workforce will want young people with historical awareness, skills in problem-solving, and the ability to relate well with others.
