Hello IVES Flyers and families! 

My name is McKenzie Parsons and I am your art teacher here at Inspiration View. I’m a Colorado Springs native and I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Colorado College in the Spring of 2023. I’ve dreamed of teaching art since 6th grade and can’t wait to continue learning and growing with your student! 

In my classroom, students learn how to think, create, and behave like artists. Throughout the year students will explore a variety of materials and be challenged to channel their creative energy into projects that build technical skills. Students will have the opportunity to take ownership over their studio space and incorporate their personal interests into their artwork.

When I’m not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my family, tending to my house plants, thrifting, cooking, traveling, and practicing my art skills!

Building relationships with parents and students is my top priority, and I value frequent communication. I plan to send a monthly newsletter updating you on the happenings of our art studio and keeping you in the loop. If you need to touch base, please email mckenzie.parsons@d49.org. I will respond within 24 hours Monday through Friday, but usually the same day.
