Earlier this month I presented the State of the Workforce Annual Report to the board of education. The HR team has produced this report each year since 2017 to share data, analysis and insights on select workforce measures, with a primary goal of driving strategic workforce priorities.

Your guidance through VoW Annual Survey results, both in 2020 and 2019, led me to research and build analyses that helped identify and quantify our compensation issue in D49.

Leadership Update - May 2021
Every time I drive through the gap construction on my way to Denver, I am irritated in advance, impatient in the middle, and relieved on the other side. That’s exactly how I feel about the 20-21 school year. We knew going in it would be a difficult year, but we didn’t know how many delays, detours, accidents and disruptions we might encounter.

Leadership Update - April 2021
Last summer District 49 created a new department as part of a reorganization: data and performance. The change brought central registration, student information systems (PowerSchool), and academic systems, which oversees tools used for student learning and assessment, into one department.

District 49 is blessed by a long tradition of leadership from teachers and other committed educators. We are not the largest or wealthiest district, so D49 has been a place that attracts and holds employees because they are committed to students and the community.
