District 49 Preschool Roundup
Description
The first opportunity to enroll for preschool during the 2017-2018 school year is Friday, Feb. 24. Children must be District 49 residents, and either 4 years old or 3 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2017.
During the annual preschool roundup, early childhood professionals will look to identify potential candidates for the Colorado Preschool Program, the special needs program and Head Start. Students who do not qualify for those programs may enter a lottery for the tuition program.
To alleviate long wait times, parents are asked to visit by last name during specific windows. If the last name begins with the letters A-M, they're asked to attend in the morning. If the last name begins with N-Z, they attend in the afternoon.
Parents must arrive with their child, his or her birth certificate, identification, guardianship papers and proof of residence (e.g. utility bill), and a compete CPP application.
Please note that no child will be given a preschool spot Feb. 24. All tuition program families will be notified by email after the lottery drawing in March. The message will explain whether or not their child was accepted into one of the district's preschool programs.
