Community Meeting: New Falcon Zone School
Description
As you recall, our community overwhelmingly supported our students, families and staff by passing ballot issue 3B by a 2-to-1 margin in November.
The mill levy oversight committee, school accountability committees and principals have been hard at work reviewing and approving projects to refresh and refurbish our existing buildings. Projects will get underway as we head toward the end of the school year and really ratchet up during summer break.
We also continue initial work for the construction of a new school in our zone to accommodate for our continued growth. As you know, Falcon Zone and District 49 are committed to collaborating with those we serve and our larger community.
Whether it’s weather delays and closures, the school family calendar or the therapeutic administration of cannabinoids for a small group of students, open dialogue and honest communication continue to build trust.
As we prepare to build new learning spaces, I’d like to invite you to share your thoughts and ideas about how we can make the best use of the new school. There are some important questions that we need to address together:
- What makes sense in terms of boundaries for the new school?
- Knowing that some existing students may choose to stay at their current school when the new school opens, what is the best use of the new space while the school fills out?
We are hosting a series of community meetings to share our ideas, get your ideas on these and other questions and any other input you’d like to provide. Please plan on attending one of these meetings:
Please invite your neighbors who would like the opportunity to learn and share. You can find information about 3B projects at D49.org/3B.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff. Engaged families and an involved community make for strong schools.
