District 49 Internship Program

D-49 students have the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and experience in a variety of professional fields.   Our Senior Internship Program is up and running!  Businesses in Colorado Springs and Falcon have accepted interns to work for them from January – May 2010. 

Intern positions are available in the following occupations: physical therapy, fire/rescue, tv/radio broadcasting, auto body, restaurant, finance/investing, insurance, optical, dentistry, chiropractics, cable/internet, publishing, alternative medicine, veterinary, photography, heating and cooling, preschool, and elementary education.

This list continues to grow, as does the list of students who plan to participate.

Students earn school credit
UNPAID positions
District covers liability insurance
Student provides own transportation
Students must work once per week and 4 hrs min/wk – 8 hrs max/wk

If you would like to suggest businesses that might want to participate in our program, or to recommend seniors who would be exemplary representatives of our district, or maybe you want an intern in your classroom, please contact the internship coordinator.
