What?   This year the WHES Student Council will be leading year long world community service
project to send school supplies to schools in Kosovo, in the Balkans.   Since the Balkan war in
1991-2001, most of the schools and students in Kosovo are in desperate need of school supplies.
Mrs. Thomas’s husband, Peter is deployed to Kosovo for one year. As a part of his job, the
US & NATO forces are rebuilding schools and orphanages in the areas near the base. Since we
have a real live person who can deliver school supplies to the students and teachers in Kosovo,
we thought it would be a wonderful way for students in our school to be a part of giving that helps
change the world! This is a KIDS helping KIDS project!

 How? We will be collecting NEW school supplies to be sent to Kosovo! Each student council
team will have a class box(es) to collect school supplies. Once we have collected many items we
will pack them and send them on to Kosovo for the kids!

What to Bring?  pens, colored chalk, math flash cards,folders (fun ones!), colored pencils, construction paper,drawing paper, paintbrushes, paint sets, rulers, playground toys, other ideas? See
your student council rep!  NO GLUE OR SCISSORS PLEASE!
