planning a Thanksgiving Rotation for November 20th. Assessment
is ongoing to prepare for Progress Reports

Thanksgiving Feast on November 20th at 11 am. That evening they

Springs Cliff Dwellings to go along with their Social Studies unit on Native
Americans. In Math they are focusing on money. Writing is focused on
framed paragraphs and the firefighters are discussing choking and
strangulations.
- 3rd grade is working on intonation and
sequencing with Guided Reading. In Science they are studying the water
cycle and will be moving into landforms. The piloted math program “Everyday
Math” is looking at measurement and in Social Studies, Native Americans and

Assistant Principal Report
- School of Choice Survey: The committee discussed the
various questions on the survey, coming to a consensus that there were too
many “what if” scenarios to make a blanket statement. The ability to put a
cap on enrollment would be a plus for WHES, especially if teacher/student
ratios could be set
- See Agenda for upcoming dates in November and December
Open Forum:
- Kindergarten would like to investigate purchasing
roller shades for the school windows to be used in the event of a lockdown
- Mr. Roybal attended the District D.S.E.M. meeting with
the new Safety Director David Watson. Lockdown procedures are in the
process. We need dates for future meetings
Next Meeting:
- Dec. 10th 5-6 pm
- School Improvement Plan will be discussed
The meeting adjourned at 6:00pm
