Dedication Ceremony and
Open House - Saturday, August 23rd, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join us for the dedication ceremony of the newest high
school in District 49! The building will be open for
tours.

All Students (9th and 10th)
to Attend August 5th
Because everyone will be new to the building and Vista
Ridge, we are asking that both 9th and 10th graders
attend school on August 5th. This is a change from the
district calendar which has it denoted as only 9th
graders. We have several activities and information
sessions for students planned.

Registration for 2008-2009
Monday 7/28 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm and
Tuesday 7/29 7:00 am - 2:00 pm
The new school year is almost here! All students who
will be attending Vista Ridge are expected to attend
registration. Students will receive their class
schedules, locker assignments, student ID's, and be able
to pay class and participation fees. Students and
parents may attend either of the two days.

Central Enrollment June
23rd - July 18th
If you are moving into our area, you will need to enroll
at our central office during the central enrollment
window. Central enrollment will be held from Monday,
June 23 through Friday, July 18 between the hours of
7:00 am - 5:30 pm. Find more

Engineering Academy
Full for 2008-09
Due to its popularity, the Engineering Academy has been
closed for the 2008-09 school year. All available seats
have been filled. If you are moving into our area and
your son/daughter is interested in the program, you may
email jspalla@d49.org
to be placed on a waiting list in case a student moves
out of our school by the fall.
We also have a new Biomedical Academy that still has
seats available. This is a brand new program from
Project Lead the Way, the same authors of our current
Engineering program. Student work
in this course involves the study of human medicine,
research processes and an introduction to
bioinformatics. Students investigate the human body
systems and various health conditions such as heart
disease, diabetes, and infectious diseases. Engineering
principles including: the design process, feedback
loops, fluid dynamics, and the relationship of structure
to function are incorporated in the curriculum where
appropriate. For more

Vista Ridge Phone
Numbers Changing July 11th
Due to a new telephone system in the district, our phone
numbers will be changing. Our current main line
(667-4695) will change to 494-8800. A phone list will be
available online once we make the change.
