"Launch
Your Dreams" Unit Due
Dates
Welcome to your first Interdisciplinary Unit in 7th
Grade! Your teachers are very excited about this unit and we
hope you will be, too. Below are the VERY important pieces of
information that you will need to share with your
parents/guardians and remember yourself. It would be an
excellent idea to put these important dates into your planner
for an extra reminder.
In each of your core classes (Math, Science, Language Arts,
Geography) you will be creating a portion of this project. Each
portion will then be put together on a tri-fold poster board for
viewing. 7th grade has a few tri-fold boards for
sale for only $2 while supplies last. Each portion has its own
due date for that core class. Make sure you are aware when each
part is due. (Hint: Write this in your planner!)
Project Components:
(Details for each component will be given by that core teacher.)
Ø
Science
– You will build your rocket, write a comic strip, and research
a space mission.
Ø
Math
– You will be creating a survey about future goals, collecting
and analyzing the data, displaying the data, and making
predictions based on your sample survey.
Ø
Geography
– You will be making a physical and an economic activity map
about one U.S. state and be able to write multiple paragraphs by
drawing information from each map.
Ø
Language Arts
– You will be studying October Sky and completing various
assignments. You will be allowed to choose the best of these
assignments for the display board.
*These are the BIG assignments for this project. Regular
classroom assignments will be given as well.
