The First Annual PLC-Middle Senior Thanksgiving Feast Scrapbook

The feast was a great success thanks to the hard work and planning of Mrs. Olson and the support of our parents and PLC staff.  We hosted almost 70 seniors and allowed both the students and the seniors to get a better understanding of each other.

Each table had a handmade placemat and decorations.  We had a packed house, almost 70 Falcon seniors attended the feast!

Some students, like Riley, entertained the waiting seniors with magic and card tricks, while other students, like Anna and Haley, greeted the arriving seniors at the entrance.

Once the seniors arrived, they were paired with a middle school student and escorted to their seats.  The students and seniors conversed about their lives and school and families as they waited to join the serving line.

Tyler and Ryan escorted their seniors to the serving line and held their plates for them as they got their meal.  Meanwhile, Ayla entertains her senior couple.

After the meal, several students entertained the crowd with their special talents.  Mr. Hahn played the piano during dinner, Hannah sang a beautiful song a capella, and Alex impressed us with her trombone playing.

Every first Friday of the month, Mrs. Brown takes five eight graders to the Marian House Soup Kitchen to volunteer for the day.  The students who have gone so far have come back with some wonderful stories about their experience. (click on the link to the left to learn more about the Marian House).  We are looking for charitable donors to donate money towards the cost of the transportation to the Marian House Soup Kitchen.  If you would like to donate, please contact Mrs. Ford or Mrs. Brown.

The middle school students have already been active in their community service projects this year.  PLC-M has adopted Meridian Rd. just off of Swingline road and our students have been busy for the last three Friday afternoons cleaning up trash along the road.  The students have also worked hard to clean up the PLC and PPCC campus area and fields.  Another project that the students are currently working on are decorations for the Falcon senior citizen Thanksgiving Dinner that we will be hosting in November!!
