Dear Evans Families and
Friends,
I
am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as assistant
principal at Evans International Elementary School for the
2009-2010 school year.
Having been a teacher at Evans during the past five
years, I have been fortunate to be part of a positive school
community focused on student success.
I am very proud of our school, and consider it an honor
to support your child’s learning.
I
wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a little of my
professional background.
I began my teaching career eleven years ago as a
classroom teacher in Pueblo District 60 in southern Colorado.
I taught grades three and four for six years prior to
relocating to Colorado Springs in 2004 to join Falcon School
District 49 as a third grade teacher at Evans.
While at Evans, I have taught third grade for three years
and have enjoyed my role as instructional coach for the past two
years.
It is with great excitement that Evans International will begin
this school year as an authorized International Baccalaureate
Primary Years Program school.
The tremendous sense of community among the students,
staff, and families at Evans International played an integral
part in earning IB distinction.
I am proud to be a part of this dedicated school
community that is committed to children and student achievement.
I know that our staff will continually strive to support
each child’s academic and personal success.
I
look forward to meeting you throughout the year and working
together to support your child’s learning and growth.
I feel strongly about keeping the lines of communication
open between school and family, so please feel free to contact
me or stop by at any time.
Sincerely,
Michelle Slyter
Assistant Principal
