Cheryl Goodyear-DeGeorge began serving as the Principal of Falcon High School in July of 2013 after eleven years in teaching and leadership roles in both D49 and Colorado Springs School District 11. Education is a second career for Mrs. DeGeorge. She spent 20 years in the semiconductor industry as an electrical and process engineer prior to becoming an educator. Mrs. DeGeorge has taught math, physics, and computer classes at the middle, high and college levels. She is passionate about education and the opportunities that it provides for all students no matter what their future plans. She believes that knowledge equates to power and opportunity.
Cheryl and her husband Tony have lived in the Falcon Zone since 2000 and raised four boys, all graduates of Falcon High School. Falcon is her home and she is committed to the students and families in the Falcon Zone. With four sons, all with different interests and strengths, Cheryl is committed to a public education that meets the needs of and fosters success for all students.
Cheryl completed her undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Weber State University, her Master’s in Administration at University of Maryland, and her MA in Curriculum and Instruction from UCCS. She has been involved in teaching and curriculum development for math and science at all levels K-12 and in the collegiate and industry arenas. Mrs. DeGeorge has worked with both educational and industrial organizations across the nation to develop and deliver STEM education to students of all ages, both in a classroom setting and digitally.
