Shyrl Springer, President
Raised as an Army-Air Corps, then Air Force dependent, I grew up in Illinois, Michigan, Alaska (more than once), Ohio, Virginia and Maryland. I attended the University of Maryland, studying English (Creative and Technical Writing), Anthropology, Ethnography and German. I then married into the Air Force and have since lived in Georgia, California (more than once), Virginia and Colorado. Barry and I will celebrate our 33rd anniversary this year (2001). I have a married son and daughter and two grandchildren. For forty years I raised Siberian Huskies for sled and snow (one ran in the Iditarod). I enjoy gardening, sewing, cooking, reading, learning, nature and life, not necessarily in that order.
In 2001 I will become an "official" senior citizen (55).

How do you personally see yourself making a difference in the Falcon School District?
When I was elected in 1996, the district had gone through some devastating and divisive turmoil. One of my chief goals was to try to heal the community and move on to provide the best education possible for our kids. I have tried to be fair and listen to the concerns of all community members and to make decisions with an eye to what is best for the improvement of education within our fiscal limits.
